SMART1 Probe Reaches Lunar Orbit

Expedition 10 Heads To ISS

A new crew is scheduled to arrive at the ISS on or about October 15th. This will be the new crew of Expedition 10. It will be made up of Commander, Leroy Chiao and Science officer, Salizhan S. Sharipov. The new crew will stay in place for some six months. “Dr.Sky” had a recent interview with Expedition 9 crewmember, Lt.Col. Mike Fincke. Chinese Space Program-Update

Interesting things are happening with regard to the Chinese space program! Get set for another manned mission possibly in late summer or the fall of 2004. Chinese astronauts are known as "Taikonauts", derived from the characters "taikong", meaning "space" or "cosmos". The primary Chinese launch vehicle to space is the "Long March" series of rockets.
